I am Elsa Sharp, a TV Talent Manager and author of the TV career guide How To Get A Job in Television.
I got my first break as a TV researcher in 1994 and have worked in TV production at all levels – from assistant producer to series editor. I have worked on TV productions and also been a development producer.
I became a talent manager in 2005. I set up TV Talent in 2007 and have worked as a freelance for a variety of different indies and the BBC on a consultancy basis.
TV Talent is a bespoke talent finding service for TV companies looking to crew up the productions or find specific producers – from executive producers and series producers to heads of development and producer/directors. I can also source production managers.
I work to a brief – either crewing up a production or looking for a specific producer – from an executive producer, series producer or producer directors.
I have different three levels of service –
- Providing a list of available producers (ie. Producer/Directors) for a production role for a one off fee
- Crewing up a production – sourcing Assistant Producers, Producer/Directors on daily rate for an agreed number of days
- Headhunting senior executives to a brief – head of production, executive producer or series producer – for a finding fee and one off placement fee
I am employed by the company and do not charge the freelancer. I am not an agent.
Previous clients include Firecracker Films, Raw Television, Objective Productions, BBC Specialist Factual, and Outline Productions. Since September 2011 I have been head of talent at award winning factual producer Dragonfly Film and TV. I recruit researchers and all levels of producer across all of their US and UK output from rig series One Born Every Minute
I have an extensive database, a wide network of industry contacts from researchers to executive producers.
